Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM)
Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) Emissions ComplianceSince 2008, heavy duty road vehicles have had to meet emissions standards for PM to avoid being charged for travelling within the London LEZ (Low Emission Zone). The Mayor has recently announced his intention to introduce an ultra low emission zone in central London from 2020.
It is also important to take action to reduce emissions from non-road mobile machinery (NRMM) to protect and improve Londoners health. The latest version of the London Atmospheric Emissions Inventory estimates that in 2010 the NRMM used on construction sites was responsible for 12% of NOx emissions and 15% of PM10 emissions in Greater London.

This will require ALL vehicles to be either zero or ultra low emission.
NRMM (Non-Road Mobile Machinery) covers a variety of engine installations in machines used for purposes other than passenger or goods transport. The compliance of machinery has to be proven by the contractor prior to being allowed on site. Machinery that does not comply will be stood down and removed accordingly.
